Daily Jotter App Reviews
With this new version this application is getting better and better, it does exactly what I want as far as having a page per day for Journal entry. I like the new search feature and the ability to print sections I want. Gary
Turns out the simplest app that I downloaded is the one I use the most. This is so handy to have a page set up for every day. It is easy to clip notes in from emails and when you flip back through the pages of the journal, you get a great review of what has been going on in your life. For anyone who likes to journal, this is the app for you. I love the little snips of emails that I get from people that are so funny and great. Putting them in the journal is so much better than saving the email and then never being able to find it again. Love this app!
Love the product but have a couple of questions. 1) Can you make it "find" and entry no matter when it was entered? Starting on the 7th of this month, I made several entries concerning water softeners. I tried to find them by clicking Edit > Find > Find... and entering the word softener. It didnt find it on the current page because it wasnt there. It said "Not found". I expected it to scan previous dates but apparently it doesnt do this. For me, this should be a required feature of the software. 2) Can you make this work with MobileMe synchronization? I have two Macs and it would be great to be able to enter and/or view data no matter which Mac it was entered on.
This app was exactly what I was looking for in a journal. I was tired of searching for a pen and looking for the perfect journal for my thoughts each day! Now with one flick the jotter is open and I am typing away! I love that theyve added the ability to print several days at a time too!! This is an awesome app...click install right away!
Its just like a Text Edit with less fetures that automaticaly comes out with a new document every day. Not that impressive. Chronologies is a much better app.
Im really enjoying this app since its just really simple and quick! You jot down things you want to remember and you can return to it exactly the way it was without having to save anything.
Not at all what I expected. Nothing more than a notepad that anyone could create/maintain on their own. To see the list of daily postings, you go to "windows" on top bar (there are no robust pull down menus in this app). Even then it excludes the entries from the current date!. Waste of money - I dont understand how it every received the higher ratings that led me to buy.
I suppose its okay as a note taking app, but for the money—and compared to other, cheaper apps—its a waste. Basic functions are not there: 1) ability to set default font/text style; 2) searches do not highlight responses, just brings up a list of notes; 3) will not automatically set to new date if app is kept open. Idea behind this is nice, but implementation is lacking right now, imo.
After much searching and fooling around with "journals", my wife found this app. It is simple to use, you can print what you select, and best of all it doesnt confuse the heck out of you! The word here is SIMPLE!
I have spent over $100 trying to find a simple app for taking small, random notes on the events of the day, something that isnt a full-fledged word process or a day planner. I already have those. Daily jotter stays at the upper right of my screen, and allows me to put small notes on it throughout the day as a daily record of events (yes, it keeps track of which day it is). Sometimes I just use it briefly as a clipboard for pasting various parts of an article, followed by pasting the various notes in a larger program such as DevonThink. This program is stable, it stays put until I need it, and it is precisely what it aims to be. It is a date-oriented daily record of events, like the right-hand page of a Franklin Day Planner.
This app has two major flaws. First, it does not allow you to search previous pages, searches are limited to the page you are working on. That’s pretty useless because I definitely remember what I am writing on a certain day, but I may not remember on which day I visited aunt Sue. To find aunt Sue, you have to manually click your way back until you see her name. Second, the spell checker is rather annoying. You can turn it off only for the page you are working on. The next day, it’s automatically back on. This makes it useless when you enter non-dictionary words or when you use two languages simultaneously, e.g. you write in English but talk about a German event. The spell checker will replace the German word with whatever it thinks fit, and does not necessarily do so immediately. Sometimes it leaves the word as is but corrects it a few seconds later when you have already typed three more sentences and don’t notice the change. The app is useful only if you jot things down daily and never look back again.
okay for one-time notes

Exactly what I wanted for an excellent price

Sorry I bought this

Not too good

So Perfectly Simple!

Performs as advertised but...
